[Newsletter with a Gift] "Diagnosis" As a Threshold of Wisdom

Hello Dear ,

As a result of a burst cyst last month and a lot of accompanying pain, I received a diagnosis of Endometriosis. It got me thinking about what a big deal it is to get a label for something I’ve been feeling physically, emotionally, and spiritually!!! 😳

This experience reminded me of years ago when I gave a talk to a group of physicians who all knew the Western medical definition of “diagnosis,” yet many had forgotten the Greek etymology of the word [dia = to separate and take apart, between and gnosis = wisdom, to discern]. When we understand the origin of such words, we can see that it is meant to give us a pause, to use our wisdom apart from something, to read between the lines. 🙏🌬

Interestingly, when a diagnosis is made, many of us become anesthetized. A trance-like hypnotic state can
set -in and feel like a loss of personal power because someone in a position of authority has provided an answer to our concerns. Present-mindedness is lost, and as a result, we can no longer clearly discern for ourselves. This topic is worthy of a longer discussion, if you'd like, we can bring it into our Monthly Live Q&A session. The next one is October 11th.

Personally, I am moving forward with several therapeutic options, hopeful and looking forward to a change in my symptoms, terrain, and a complete healing. I am taking the needed time, being patient, and being kind to myself. I am consciously asking for a balance between the masculine and feminine aspects and rhythms.

What would happen if the medical establishment met us at our humanity level with empowerment through diagnosis? What if our medical sciences returned to its roots of Whole Person observation -- seeing consciousness, beliefs, community, and environment as part of the pillars of health and wellbeing? Paul's book, Science, Being and Becoming, is all about scientists and their spiritual experiences. Perhaps we, the people, need to encourage our health and medical providers to remember our spiritual nature as primary! I want to thank the practitioners, of whom we know many, who SEE and acknowledge the Whole Person and SEE their patients as people with a condition that brings greater wisdom in all dimensions.
